Based on Maurice's farm on the Comber Road outside Newtownards, Co Down, in an area traditionally known as "The Market Garden of Ulster", the allotments will provide an excellent opportunity for people to rediscover their green fingers. Due to its position close to Strangford lough, the ground is a sandy loam, high in nutrients and offering good drainage. All these features ensure it is ideal for horticultural activities and organic growing.

The allotments offer a unique horticultural and healthy option. With modern housing having smaller gardens people do not have the space or opportunity to grow their own fruit and vegetables. Now, through a combination of hiring allotments and receiving advice and assistance from maurice anyone can develop a small fruit and vegetable garden. The benefits do not end there. Gardening is an excellent source of gentle exercise for all age groups interested in an alternative healthy leisure pursuit or form of recreation.
